I’m going to do my best, but I predict 2025 is going to be another tough year for the blog.
Those words, written back on February 20, 2025, turned out to be a pretty accurate forecast for what the year had in store. The site hasn’t fared a whole lot better through the first half of 2026.
The bottom line? Life happens. And a lot has happened over the last two years. At some point, I hope to document it all. In the meantime, here’s a review of 2025 and the plan for the remainder of this year.
2025 Review
For what it’s worth, I managed to publish more content in 2025 than in 2024, though that’s not saying a whole lot. There were 11 posts last year compared to the 7 in 2024. However, all but one of those posts was during the first half of the year. The blog got off to a decent start, and then it stalled.
For the sake of brevity, I’m going to forgo a deep dive into the analytics again this year. When you’ve published fewer than 20 articles over two years, there just isn’t much to talk about.
2026 Blogging and Site Plans
My primary goal for the rest of 2026 is simple: get back to a regular writing routing. The blog is important to me, and I enjoy writing.
The lack of posts over the last two years hasn’t been due to a lack of ideas. I have plenty to say about a lot of things. There are all the recent life events, the explosive rise of Artificial Intelligence (with both its promises and its risks), baking recipes to memorialize, golf courses to review, business and startup musings, and general thoughts on life. I have enough topics queued up to go on for days, maybe weeks, possibly months. The issue isn’t making the time. It’s making writing a priority.
Once I do get around to spending more time on the site, the main focus will be adding fresh content and giving the site a long-overdue makeover. I won’t repeat myself this year. If you’re curious about where I want to take things, check out the outline at the bottom of my blogging plans for 2025.
To summarize, it’s been a busy couple of years. Writing still matters. We will see how it goes.
